D.A.R.E. Keeps Kids on the Court

Hundreds of students from Lakewood elementary schools play in annual youth basketball tournament.

The wet weather has kept many athletes from and off the diamonds and courts and fields this spring, but the games went on recently for hundreds of elementary school students.

The  held its 13th annual D.A.R.E. Basketball Tournament earlier this month at , where several hundred fifth graders representing each of Lakewood’s seven elementary schools played each other over the course of a day.

In the end, one team outlasted all others. The winning team is pictured to the right, along with its coaches and mascots.
