Police Blotter: Knife Waving and Train Stopping

The following arrest information was supplied by the Lakewood Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Trainstopping

Police received a report just before 3 a.m. Dec. 23 of two cars driving east on the railroad tracks near Brockley Avenue. Norfolk Southern Corporation, who owns the railway, was advised to stop all trains in the area. Police arrived to find the cars were driving about 10 feet from the tracks, and were not in danger of being hit. Norfolk Southern was advised, and told to call if any further assistance was required.

experienced two separate incidents of shoplifting on Dec. 23. A woman was apprehended and charged with petty theft at about 2:45 p.m., and a second woman, against whom the grocery store decided not to press charges, was caught around 5:30 p.m.

Unwanted chase

A female employee at called police around 11:30 p.m. Dec. 23 and said she had been chased into her car by a white or Hispanic man, about 30 years old and wearing jeans and a black jacket. Police were unable to locate the man when they arrived on the scene.

Knife waving

An officer was flagged down by a pedestrian at the corner of Madison and Winchester avenues around 12:30 a.m. Dec. 24, who said a man was waving a knife around the corner. The man also reportedly bore the knife after getting into an argument at a bar earlier, but he denied the accusations. The man is no longer wanted at .

Domestic Violence

A man was arrested in the 12000 block of Madison Avenue for domestic violence around 3 a.m. Dec. 24.

Threat

Police were told a 50 or 60-year-old man was threatening to kill everyone at around 1:30 a.m. Dec. 24. The man denied making the threats, and was sent on his way.
