Man Tries to Lure 6-Year-Olds With Ice Cream

Creepy situation: Police received a report that a man in a car told two six-year-olds he'd give them ice cream, if they’d help him find his keys in the 1400 block of Lauderdale Avenue at around 9:30 p.m. Aug. 6. Police quickly responded, but were unable to locate the man.

Suspicion: Two men with flashlights were seen looking into a house in the 14900 block of Lakewood Heights Boulevard at around 1:30 a.m. Aug. 4. Police were unable to locate either of the men.

Stuck raccoon: A woman in the 1600 block of Elmwood Avenue reported that a raccoon had its leg stuck between items in her garage at around 3:30 p.m. Aug. 5

80 mph in a 25 mph zone: A truck and a car were spotted traveling at an estimated 70 to 80 mph on Ramona Avenue — within minutes of each other — just after 7 p.m. Aug. 4. Police were unable to locate either driver.

Overdose: A man was found dead in a bathroom of a home in the 1400 block of Winchester Avenue on Aug. 5. He died of a suspected drug overdose.

License plates stolen: A man told police that his license plates were stolen from a business in the 12000 block of Lake Avenue on Aug. 6.

Drunken ex-boyfriend arrested: A woman told police that her daughter’s boyfriend try to kick in the door to her home in the 1600 block of Alameda Avenue at around 4:45 a.m. Aug. 7. The man was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct, obstructing official business and violating a temporary protection order.

Bike stolen: A bike was reported stolen from a garage in the 1400 block of Grace Avenue on Aug. 8.
