Man Receives ‘Weapon in the Mail’

Weird package: A man in the 1100 block of West Forest Road told police that he received a “weapon in the mail” on May 31. Turns out that the package, containing a BB gun, was sent to the wrong address. The man told police that he’d have UPS return the package to the sender in Minnesota.

Passed out in a cab: Police responded to a report of a man “passed out” in the backseat of a cab in the 1500 block of Wagar Avenue at around 1:40 a.m. May 30. The man made his way to his friend’s home a few doors down.

Receiving stolen property: Police responded to the Social Security Administration building at 17513 Detroit Avenue for a report of a stolen vehicle at around 7:30 a.m. May 30. The driver was charged with receiving stolen property.

Felony theft: A man was charged with felony theft, after a police investigation revealed that he stole money from the Menchie’s at 15008 Detroit Avenue at around 2:30 p.m. May 30.

Bikes stolen: Two bikes were reported stolen from a home in the 2100 block of Lakeland Avenue at around 4:30 p.m. May 30.

Copper pipes stolen: Copper pipes were reported stolen from a home in the 1600 block of Lauderdale Avenue on May 30.

Drunken driving: A woman was charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated in the 2100 block of Bunts Road following a traffic stop at around 4 a.m. May 31.

Drug charges: A man and woman were each charged with dangerous drugs following a traffic stop in the 11700 block of Franklin Boulevard at around 6 p.m. May 31.

“Hot” air conditioners: Two boys were caught stealing an air conditioning unit from an apartment in the 11800 block of Clifton Boulevard at around 11 p.m. May 31. They were each charged with attempted breaking and entering and receiving stolen property.
