$1 Million Bond Set for Accused Murderer

Johnny Johnson pleaded not guilty charges that include aggravated murder, felonious assault, tampering with evidence and offenses against a human corpse.

The 56-year-old Cleveland man accused of killing a Lakewood woman, and stuffing her body in a closet in her Detroit Avenue apartment, has pleaded not guilty to murder.

Johnny Johnson remains in Cuyahoga County jail after Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Judge Dick Ambrose set his bond at $1 million on Thursday.

He’s charged with aggravated murder, felonious assault, tampering with evidence and offenses against a human corpse.

On Monday, the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s office identified the body of 55-year-old Pamela Jo Friedl as the woman discovered in an apartment at Elbur Manor last week. 

Johnson has been charged with her murder.

Multiple calls to the medical examiner’s office have not been returned. Sources say she died from a blunt force trauma to the head, but neither the police nor the medical examiner has confirmed that report.

Johnson is slated for his next court appearance next week at a pretrial hearing.
