Coyotes in Lakewood?

One resident spotted one on the city's west side. Have you seen any?

A Lakewood Patch reader posted that her husband spotted a coyote on West Clifton Boulevard this week.

She said the coyote was seen in the backyard of their home, between Detroit Avenue and Riverside Drive at around 12:30 a.m. Aug. 1.

According to the post, a neighbor also spotted a coyote few nights before that.

A recent story published in the Plain Dealer pointed out that animals are rapidly growing in population in Northeast Ohio.

The western species of coyote making its way into the Cleveland area aren’t known for attacking humans, but will attacks cats and dogs who wander too close.
