About Rev.

I am passionate about making relationships with people from every walk of life.  I was a Peace Corps volunteer during the Vietnam War.  For whatever reason, as a Spanish and political science major in college, the Peace Corps place me in Thailand.  There I came to a larger world view of people, religions, class systems and more.

I retuned from Peace Corps and entered seminary just when the Lutheran Church was beginning to ordain women.  There I came to understand the realities of sexism and elite-ism and academia.

So now for 20+ years I have pastored a congregation in Lakewood, Ohio, Trinity Lutheran.  In the past number of years as the Church continues to change and as our economy continues to struggle, I have become invested in simple hunger relief, the lack of heath coverage for those who are poor, and the amazing quagmires of goverment, finances and aid for those without employment.  In our own little way, Trinity is a microcosm of care.  I am glad to be part of this community of friends.

Wow, things in Lakewood are picking up! A newly developing music series will begin at Trinity Lutheran Church on Thursday, February 16. The series, entitled "Lakewood City Limits" will bring music to the sanctuary that one might never expect in such a place! Bluegrass, "alt-classical, postminimal, avant-garde with the hummability of folk music" (from Trepanning Trio's blogspot), and more will be heard each 3rd Thursday of months February-May. Watch for posters. $5 suggested donation. Each gig is at 7pm.
