The developers behind Clifton Pointe — the 17 luxury townhomes along the Rocky River on Sloane Avenue — have purchased the land across the street and are planning another (similar) multi-million-dollar project. With only a few units still available in the first phase of development and construction rolling along, Abode Living plans to build additional units on the property most recently occupied by Irish Cottage. The gift shop specializing in Irish gifts, closed several years ago. It’s been vacant since. That building, as well as the structure just to the north, would be demolished to make way for as many as six new townhomes. The first phase of the multi-million-dollar project to build 17 upscale townhomes along the Rocky River is set (officially) begin next Tuesday.
Construction of the $15 million first phase of the Clifton Pointe development is set to begin on Sloane Avenue. Demolition has already begun on the three properties — starting at 1300 Sloane Avenue — to make way for 17 upscale townhomes along the Rocky River. Clifton Pointe hasn’t even broken ground yet, but at least 10 of the units are already spoken for. “We’re looking for seven other lucky buyers,” Andrew Brickman, the developer behind the project, said recently. This past fall, the developers of the multi-million-dollar project bought the three parcels of Sloane Avenue land for $800,000. Clifton Pointe hasn’t even broken ground yet, but 10 of the 17-upscale townhomes along the Rocky River are already sold. “We’re looking for seven other lucky buyers,” said developer Andrew Brickman, at the Lakewood Chamber of Commerce luncheon last Friday. “We believe in the community of Lakewood.” The multi-million dollar development planned off of Sloane Avenue is set to break ground within the next 30 to 60 days, he added. Projects like this that take advantage of some of the unique areas of Lakewood and also add to the variety of housing available are important to the City. Continued improvement of existing homes and the addition of new homes will be a good mix for Lakewood.   more ›
