Souvenir Puts the ‘In’ in Vintage on Madison Avenue
Store opens last week at 13700 Madison Avenue.
Heidi Schanz doesn’t put items in her store to sell that she wouldn’t display in her home. That makes for a nice mix of items for sale at Souvenir, her new venture at 13700 Madison Avenue. But don’t go looking for typical antique store finds at her store. Schanz is admittedly picky. “I do more decorative stuff, not the stodgy, collector kind of thing,” she said. “I go for the look and feel of things.” “I look for stuff all over the place and I try to buy what looks interesting,” she added. The items for sale in Souvenir range from high-end classic furniture and vintage clothing, to 100-year-old ivory pool balls carved from the tusks of African elephants. Hi Steve - It is not illegal to own or sell all Ivory in the USA.
