Anne Eiben, of Lakewood, died Feb. 23, holding the hand of her husband of 31 years. She was 91. Eiben is survived by husband Dr. Robert M. Eiben. Adored mother of Peter (Maria), Marianne (John) Karaffa, Ruth Khalsa , Janne (Marshall) Bissett, Martha (Patrick) O'Leary, George (Mary), Jack, Susan (Kevin ) Kelley, Marc (Zina), Thomas, Joseph (Sheila) and Constance (Larry) Rieb. In 60 years of priesthood, Rev. Nelson Callahan was a pastor, associate, college professor, diocesan archivist, author and most recently pastor of St. Raphael Parish in Bay Village for 28 years. The Lakewood resident died Jan. 15, at 85 years old. Callahan was the beloved son of the late Nelson J. and Mary (nee Mulholland) Callahan; loving brother of Dr. Kenneth (Joan) Callahan (both deceased) and Miriam (Gerald) Porter; dear uncle of The Hon. Sang one final time with Golden Crescent Chorus in surprise visit
Richard Mills, 85, of Westlake, died Oct. 18. He was born Aug. 20, 1927, and was a standout track and field and cross country athlete at Lakewood High School and Ohio University. He served in the U.S. Navy in World War II. He was an avid sailor and member of Edgewater Yacht Club. Mills was also a former Lakewood Police Officer. He graduated Cum Laude from Cleveland Marshall Law School and was Chief Assistant Law Director of Cleveland. Mills performed barbershop singing and dixieland jazz with The New Orleans Stompers. Hospice of the Western Reserve granted a wish for him to sing with a barbershop group one more time recently, bringing the Golden Crescent Chorus' South Shore Four to Westlake Village, where Mills was living.
