New GetGo Opens in Lakewood
It’s not yet clear what’s going to become of the vacant gas station across the street at Detroit and Manor Park avenues.
The new GetGo gas station has opened its doors — and its 16 fuel pumps — at the corner of Detroit Avenue and Bunts Road. The 5,500-square-foot gas station was buzzing with new customers this week. The GetGo station — unlike the Pennsylvania-based company’s typical gas station — will offer a few grocery items, prepared foods, a patio and a Wi-Fi café. The business will be open from 6 a.m. to midnight, seven days a week. The site features bio-retention landscaping, helping to alleviate the city’s storm water management issues, a move lauded by city officials. The project didn’t come without criticism from neighbors. I just do not get this, "The site features bio-retention landscaping, helping to alleviate the city’s storm water management issues, a move lauded by city officials." Why do they applaud, when they should DEMAND this??? We are facing millions of dollars to appease the EPA for our lack of... But yet they ban certain breeds of dogs and their owners. They have no idea of real SAVINGS to Lakewood … more ›
