We asked Patch readers last week to share their endorsements and invited them to blog about it. Here's a round up of what YOU said.
Last week we asked you, the Patch readers, to share your political opinions and you certainly answered. Our story asking for your comments in reaction to three of the state's major newspaper endorsements for presidential candidates attracted more than 400 comments. And in our unscientific poll, 56 percent of you endorsed Mitt Romney for president. As promised, here's a round up of political blogs posted to Patch sites in Ohio over the last week. Both newspapers endorsed the president over his Republican challenger, Mitt Romney, but with less enthusiasm than they did four years ago. We want to hear what you think.
In this, the so-called swing state of Ohio, two of today's three Ohio major newspaper endorsements went to President Barack Obama. In the Plain Dealer's endorsement, the editorial board said Ohio benefitted from Obama's decision to help the auto industry and that he pulled the nation back from "the brink of" depression. But they weren't as enthusiastic as they were four years ago. The Beacon Journal in Akron also endorsed Obama today. They like the president's "direction, spirit and priorities," but also said "errors have been made." The Columbus Dispatch endorsed his Republican opponent, Mitt Romney today.
