Lakewood's Deep Freeze: Winter Cold Settles In
The National Weather Service issues a wind chill advisory; snow warning continues.
Extremely cold weather is settling into Northeast Ohio and staying for several days. The National Weather Service on Tuesday night issued a Winter Weather Message warning of heavy snow, gusty winds and extremely cold temperatures. Through Wednesday morning, accumulations of four to eight inches are expected, with temperatures ranging from 2 degrees to 10 degrees above zero. Winds are from the west at 10 mph to 15 mph, with gusts of up to 25 mph. Wind chill is expected to drop to 15 below zero. The National Weather Service warns that driving may be very slow, impossible or hazardous with highly variable road conditions, especially along the lakeshore. It is a balmy 14 today in the Yacht Club Basin. Break out the shorts for next Thursday as the high will be high 40's. My poor bulbs are horribly confused. This fast friendship with winter is now over.........I must be getting old the cold in not my friend. These 4 degree temps are a nightmare. Can't wait for the gas bill. -pam davis ghaster more ›
