Taste of Lakewood: New Site, More Vendors

Event moves to Screw Factory after years at Clifton Club.

The ninth annual Taste of Lakewood will be bringing back to the neighborhood the irresistible combination of art and food for another round of good eats and visual treats on June 3. But this time around, the Taste of Lakewood will be in a new location. The event will be held at the Lake Erie Building, Templar Industrial Park, also known as the Screw Factory, after being held at the Clifton Club for its first eight years. “It’s a larger venue. Instead of limiting ourselves to 22 restaurants, we’re going to have 28. We will be able to sell more tickets. The eighth-annual Taste of Lakewood, presented by the Lakewood Chamber of Commerce, was held at the Clifton Club located at 17884 Lake Road in Lakewood. There was a large turnout of guest and sponsors for the event First Federal of Lakewood, AT&T, Cox and Nature’s Bin to name a few. Some featured restaurants were 56 West, the Root Café, Cozumel Restaurante, Pier W and Melt Bar & Grilled.

Taste of Lakewood is a Succulent Success

A veritable smorgasbord of local restaurant fare.

The 8th Annual Taste of Lakewood took place last night on a perfectly sunny spring evening on the lush front lawn of the Clifton Club- tucked back in Clifton Park on Lake Avenue. Crisp white tents provided shade for the white-clothed tables; the music ensemble, Mobius, jazzed up the festive atmosphere; the lake supplied a refreshing breeze. Twenty local Lakewood restaurants shared substantial tastes of their respective samplings. And, there were 5 baskets of goodies being raffled – brimming with goods and services donated by local shops, salons, restaurants and private donors, as well as a bounteous- and coveted- wine basket. Taste of Lakewood Event Set for June 5

Organizers say tickets are selling out fast.

When it comes to food, people in Lakewood mean business. Around ever corner there is a popular restaurant. Some are featured in “best of” lists in area publications, others are not as well known. But on June 5, many of those Lakewood establishments will be under one roof for the eighth-annual Taste of Lakewood — 22 restaurants to be exact. The event, hosted by the Lakewood Chamber of Commerce, will take place at the Clifton Club from 4 to 7 p.m. Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Patty Ryan said the Clifton Club is a cozy venue, but that means only 450 people can attend.
