After a lengthy renovation, Paisley Monkey has expanded and reopened on Detroit Avenue. And, the children’s retailer is better than ever. Paisley Monkey expanded into the former location of Tess’ Tender Touch, essentially doubling the size of the store. That means there is twice as much space — about 2,000 square feet — for merchandise. Among the new items are baby slings, new books, maternity clothing (on the way) and new toys. Lots of 'em. Paisley Monkey, the popular children’s store on Detroit Avenue, has outgrown its space. Again. In 2011, the store moved from its Warren Road location, to the more visible—and larger—storefront at 14417 Detroit Avenue. Now, owner Tamara Racin says that the store needs more space to expand and add to its inventory. As of Jan. 1, Paisley Monkey will begin remodeling the space that used to house Tess' Tender Touch next door. Racin said she's not sure when the updates will be done, but she has plenty of plans once the spaces are combined.
