Man Arrested in Connection With Sunday's Stabbing, Burglary

19-year-old Lakewood man charged with receiving stolen property — so far. Additional charges are expected.

A 19-year-old Lakewood man was taken into custody late Tuesday night in connection with a burglary and stabbing on Webb Road on Sunday. Kevin Mahovlic, of 17920 Detroit Ave., was arrested at his home on a charge of receiving stolen property after detectives working the case learned that he had some of the items stolen from Sunday’s incident. The police department would not comment whether Mahovlic is the only suspect in the case. But, in a written statement, police chief Timothy J. Police Search for Suspect in Lakewood Stabbing, Burglary

27-year-resident hospitalized from injuries that required surgery.

Lakewood Police are looking for man who stabbed 27-year-old Brian Favre of Webb Avenue early Sunday. Favre, who underwent surgery for a severe cut to his arm, was recovering at Fairview Hospital in Cleveland on Monday afternoon. Police were called to the Rush Inn on Detroit Avenue at 1:40 a.m. Sunday and found Favre who had been stabbed in the arm after struggling with a burglar who forced his way into his duplex located at 1380/1382 Webb Ave. The suspect, described as a 25-year-old man, 5'10" and 150lbs, is still at large. “The suspect gained entry to the home and when he went to the upstairs he confronted Mr. Favre and they had a struggle and he ended up getting cut with a sharp instrument,” said Police Chief Timothy J.
