Man Arrested in Lakewood Following Shooting in Cleveland

The following arrest information was supplied by the Lakewood Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Arrested with an 18-gauge shotgun Lakewood officers assisted the Cleveland Police Department arresting a man suspected in a shooting in Cleveland on March 8. The man, who was in possession of an 18-gauge shotgun when officer apprehended him in the 1400 block of Lincoln Avenue, was charged with felonious assault. Carrying a concealed weapon Following a traffic stop in the 11700 block of Madison Avenue, a man was charged with carrying a concealed weapon at around 5 a.m. March 6. His vehicle was towed. Copper pipes stolen A vacant home in the 2000 block of Waterbury Avenue was broken into on March 6. Copper piping was reported stripped from the home.  Grand theft A vehicle parked on the street in the 11800 block of Lake Avenue was reported …

Boy Charged With Inducing Panic at Middle School

Inducing panic A boy at Harding Middle School was charged with inducing panic after he told a classmate that he was going to bring a gun to school March 6. Fight, then a foot chase Police received a report of three males fighting at Madison Park at around 5:50 p.m. Feb. 29. A woman told police that one of them pointed a gun at her. All three fled the scene. Police gave chase to one of the men on foot and caught up with him in the 2000 block of Dowd Avenue. He was charged with felony fleeing and eluded. Home TP’d A resident of a home in the 2000 block of Arthur Avenue told police that the trees on the property were littered with toilet paper and the house had been “egged” on March 3. Pharmacy Gets Nearly $1,000 in Counterfeit Bills

The following arrest information was supplied by the Lakewood Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Counterfeit bills The CVS Pharmacy on Clifton Boulevard reported Feb. 26 that it had received $960 in counterfeit twenty-dollar bills. The company turned over the video footage to police. Man cited for "dangerous toys" The off-duty police officer at Giant Eagle requested assistance for a man believed to be carrying a firearm at around 11:50 p.m. Feb. 26. Turns out the gun was a fake. The man was cited for possession of dangerous toys. Fighting over NASCAR race Police were called to the Mid Town Booths bar on Detroit Avenue for a report of a fight at around 12:40 a.m. Feb. 28. Turns out, two men were arguing about the NASCAR race.  Domestic dispute A woman in the 18000 block of Edgewater Avenue told police that she and her boyfriend got …

Case of Road Rage Nets Arrest

Road rage in Lakewood A man faces a host of charges following a case of road rage in a Lakewood parking lot. Police received a report of a man who punched out a woman’s window in the parking lot of Marc’s at around 4:45 p.m. Feb. 24. According to witnesses, the man punched through the window and began punching the woman inside the vehicle. He drove away, and the woman followed him. He struck another vehicle in the 1300 block of Belle Avenue, then continued west on Clifton Boulevard. Officers caught up with him in the 1300 block of Manor Park Avenue and charged him with assault, criminal damaging and hit-skip.  Man pulls knife on his wife A woman told police that her husband pulled a knife on her and threatened her at their Cove Avenue home…

Police Cancel Rush Hour Pursuit

The following arrest information was supplied by the Lakewood Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Rush hour pursuit called off Lakewood police canceled the pursuit of a driver who fled from a traffic stop on Athens Avenue at Chesterland Avenue at around 5:15 p.m. Feb. 22. The car sped up and turned onto Lakewood Heights Boulevard, then headed west on Berea Road. Because of heavy traffic, the officer canceled the pursuit. Drug charges for men urinating in parking lot  Police were notified about two men urinating in the parking lot next two Fire Station No. 2 at around 9:30 p.m. Feb. 17. The caller said he smelled marijuana and the men were acting suspiciously. When officers arrived, they found them in possession of marijuana. Man Runs From Police For Drunken Driving Warrant

Running from police nets arrest A man bailed out of his car during a traffic stop in the 14000 block of Detroit Avenue at around 9 p.m. Feb. 10. Police chased him north on Ramona Avenue and caught up with him near Clifton Boulevard. Turns out, he was trying to escape a warrant for drunken driving. He now also faces a charge of obstruction of official business. Pregnant Woman Beat Up By Her Husband

Domestic violence A woman, eight months pregnant, told police that her husband beat her up at their home Feb. 8. Police were unable to immediately locate the man. Grand theft A vehicle was reported stolen from the driveway of a home in the 2100 block of Olive Avenue at around 9:45 a.m. Feb. 7. Man shot by a BB gun A man told police that someone shot him with a BB gun near the intersection of Franklin Boulevard and Lakewood Avenue at around 9:48 a.m. Feb. 6. Man arrested following burglary in progress A man was arrested and charged with aggravated burglary after a resident in the 13000 block of Lake Avenue told police that there was a burglar in his house at around 8 a.m. Feb. 4. The burglar, carrying a large knife, took off on foot however police caught up with him near The Carlyle moments later. Brotherly love? A man in the 1200 block of Fry Avenue told police that his brother was choking him at around noon Feb. 2. Police told the man to call back if his brother returned to the residence. Man faces host of charges after stealing bike A man was charged with a half-dozen charges after he stole a bike from the 16000 block of Clifton Boulevard and ran from police when he was caught at around 5:30 a.m. Jan. 14. Police received a tip that the man was hiding in a trash can at AutoZone. He was charged with stealing the bike, assault on a police officer, resisting arrest, public intoxication, obstructing official business and providing false information.
