Marcy Kaptur Wins in Every Lakewood Precinct Against 'Joe the Plumber'
The Democrat takes each of the city's 41 precincts against GOP challenger Samuel Wurzelbacher.
It looks several campaign stops in Lakewood paid off for US Rep. Marcy Kaptur. The Democrat from Toledo had no trouble beating her opponent, Samuel 'Joe the Plumber' Wurzelbacher, for the newly drawn 9th Congressional District. And in Lakewood, Kaptur took each of the city's 41 precincts on Election Day — mirroring voting trends in the presidential election. However, it hasn't been easy for Kaptur, who earlier this year squared off against US Rep. Dennis Kucinich for the newly drawn district. By the end of Election Day, Kaptur had tallied more than three times as many votes as Wuzelbacher in the district.
