Car Break-Ins Reported on the East End

The following arrest information was supplied by the Lakewood Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Car break-ins reported A laptop computer was reported stolen from a parked vehicle in the 1200 block of Donald Avenue at around 7:45 a.m. April 17. Another incident was reported in the 1300 block; a wallet, checkbook and football tickets were reported stolen. Later in the day, a man in the 13500 block of Merl Avenue told police that someone broke into his vehicle the night before and stolen a few items. Man faces charges after bailing from traffic stop A man bailed out of a traffic stop in the 1200 block of Giel Avenue at around 2 a.m. April 16. He fled on foot. Man Walks Into City Hall Dressed as Batman

Mistaken for Gotham City? Police received a report of a man donning a Batman costume walking into Lakewood City Hall at around 3:15 p.m. April 15. However, there was no threat — just a joker. The man told police that he “likes Batman and wore the costume to get some laughs.” Domestic violence A man was charged with disorderly conduct and domestic violence after he struck his wife then locked her out of the house in the 1000 block of Kenneth Drive at around 11:50 p.m. April 12.  Disorderly conduct Two men were charged with disorderly conduct in the 15700 block of Detroit Avenue at around 2:30 a.m. April 14. Man Strolls Detroit With His Pants Down

Indecency  Police received a report of a man walking along Detroit Avenue without a shirt and his “pants down to his knees” making “obscene finger gestures” at passersby at around 5:30 p.m. April 14. When police caught up with him, officers learned that he had been reported missing from a home in East Cleveland. He was taken back there. Dog barking Police received a report of a dog barking in the 2000 block of Baxterly Avenue at around 12:20 a.m. April 20. Turns out, the dog’s owner had fallen asleep on the couch after he let the dog out. Man threatens to “harm people” A man called police and said he wanted to “harm people” at around 2:50 a.m. April 11 before hanging up. Man Arrested After ‘Shooting Up’ at Gas Station

Getting high, or getting gas? A man was charged with drug abuse after someone spotted him “injecting something” into his arm with a hypodermic needle in the parking lot at the Speedway on Warren Road at around 8:30 p.m. April 9. Police caught up with him minutes later. He also had a warrant out for his arrest out of the Brunswick Police Department. Burglary The residents of a home in the 2100 block of Glenbury Avenue told police that several items were stolen from the home at around 4 p.m. April 9. “It looks like the door may have not been shut all the way,” according to the report. WANTED: Lakewood Police Looking for These Burglary Suspects

Police are looking for two women suspected of stealing a car from a garage in Lakewood last month. They were caught on camera a week later.

Police are looking for two women suspected of stealing a car from a garage in Lakewood last month. The stolen 2008 Buick was recovered in Cleveland less than a week later. Officers discovered a receipt on the floor of the car from Sapell’s in Lakewood — the day before the car was found. Using the video surveillance, officers identified the two suspects. Anyone with information — or who can identify the women — is encouraged to call detectives at the Lakewood Police Department at 216-529-6763.

Bike Versus Car Ends With 12-Year-Old in the Hospital

Car versus bike A 12-year-old boy injured his wrist after he crashed into a vehicle in the 14100 block of Athens Avenue at around 8:30 p.m. April 8. Disorderly conduct A woman told police that her ex-boyfriend pushed his way into her home in the 11800 block of Clifton Boulevard and “destroyed everything” at around 12:30 a.m. The man jumped out of the first-floor bedroom window before officers arrived, but they caught up with him in the 1200 block of Fry Avenue minutes later and charged him with disorderly conduct. Disorderly conduct Officers used a Taser to subdue a man believed to have shoplifted from the Walgreens on Detroit Avenue at around 10:30 p.m. April 7. The man was fighting with an employee before police arrived. He fled west on Detroit Avenue, before officers caught up with him. He was charged with obstructing official business, possession of drug paraphernalia and disorderly conduct. Purse stolen at church A woman was charged with theft after stealing another woman’s purse at the Cove United Methodist Church at around 9:30 a.m. April 7.  Resisting arrest A man was charged with disorderly conduct an altercation between he and another woman in the 1500 block of Cordova Avenue at around 1:15 a.m. April 5.
