PizzaBOGO Opens in Lakewood

The gourmet pizza chain based out of Hudson opened in the 2,000-square-foot space most-recently occupied by the Four Seasons Tanning salon in the newly renovated Lakewood Plaza.

For several months, anticipation has been building for the new PizzaBOGO, which quietly opened its doors in Lakewood this week. The gourmet pizza chain based out of Hudson opened in the 2,000-square-foot space most-recently occupied by the Four Seasons Tanning salon in the newly renovated Lakewood Plaza. Robert Kopis, the co-owner of pizzaBOGO, told Lakewood Patch last year noted the already existing “great pizza shops” in the area. “But we’re a different kind of pizza shop,” he said. A review on Cleveland Heights Patch noted that the pizza shop had 35 toppings, “which you can pile on individually. In addition to the expected ingredients there are many unique items such as sirloin steak tips, asparagus, Chow Mein noodles, and fresh mango…

PizzaBOGO Expected to Open by June

The gourmet pizza chain is set to take the 2,000-square-foot space formerly occupied by the Four Seasons Tanning salon in the renovated Lakewood Plaza.

Work is rolling along on the new PizzaBOGO in the newly renovated Lakewood Plaza. The gourmet pizza chain, based out of Hudson, is set to take the 2,000-square-foot space formerly occupied by the Four Seasons Tanning salon in the renovated Lakewood Plaza. The business is expected to be open by June. The sign, as well as the design plans, were recently given the OK by the city’s architectural board of review. The owners are looking forward to opening. “There’s a lot of competition in the area, and great pizza shops like Angelo’s, but we’re a different kind of pizza shop,” Robert Kopis, the co-owner of pizzaBOGO, told Lakewood Patch last year. A review on Cleveland Heights Patch noted that the pizza shop had 35 toppings, “which you can pile …

PizzaBOGO Getting Ready to Open in Lakewood Plaza

The regional pizza chain’s application for its new, “vintage” sign. If approved, build-out of the space is expected to begin soon.

PizzaBOGO, a gourmet pizza chain based out of Hudson, is set to open in the 2,000-square-foot space most-recently occupied by the Four Seasons Tanning salon in the newly renovated Lakewood Plaza. If the regional pizza chain’s application for its new, “vintage” blade sign is any indication, it will be open soon at 15320 Detroit Avenue. Robert Kopis, the co-owner of pizzaBOGO, told Lakewood Patch last year that he didn’t have a date when the shop might open, but the build-out is expected to begin once the plans are OK’d by the city. “There’s a lot of competition in the area, and great pizza shops like Angelo’s, but we’re a different kind of pizza shop,” Kopis told Lakewood Patch. A review on Cleveland Heights Patch noted that the pizza shop …

Only One Vacancy Remains in Drug Mart Plaza

News of a wine bar opening in the renovated plaza means that the building is almost full.

After the owners of Deagan’s signed a lease to open a wine bar in the renovated Lakewood Plaza, only one storefront remains vacant. And the property owners say that won’t last long. David Berkovitz, the project manager for the Levey and Company, said negations are under way with “a regional tenant,” but declined to comment further on the proposal. “We’re just waiting for the word,” he said. During the past several months, tenants have been filling up the plaza, which has gone a multi-million-dollar renovation during the past year. With potentially eight spaces available, the newly renovated plaza is almost full. In August, pizzaBOGO announced plans to move into the space just to the west of Radio Shack. The build-out of that space …

How about getting a PEI WEI restaurant in this space - a great, healthy alternative to all the beer hall food, chicken wings, fried food, hamburgers, salty deli food that seem to dominate the "cuisine" choices of downtown Lakewood these days! Columbus has 3 Pei Wei (owned by PF Chang) restaurants and they are doing great - why can't NE Ohio support just one?   more ›

Another Tenant Moving Into Drug Mart Plaza

BuyBacks, a national chain that buys and sells movies, games and music, is expected to move into the newly renovated Lakewood Plaza.

A national chain that buys and sells movies, games and music, is the latest tenant to sign a lease for a storefront at the renovated Lakewood Plaza. Representatives from Levey and Company, the plaza’s owner, confirmed with city officials that BuyBacks will be the newest business to open at the plaza — commonly known as Drug Mart Plaza. Officials from BuyBacks could not be immediately reached for comment.  However, the company’s website boasts that it has the “largest selection of games, Blu-rays, DVDs, CDs and more” for sale. The store also buys back merchandise, noting “we pay you what your stuff is worth, in cash, and on the spot.  “It is this reliable and honest system that keeps our shelves overflowing with great product.” There are …

Honestly this isn't the first time that an exchange and a buybacks are located next to each other. Both stores have done fine if not better because it strives both companies to work harder to bring the best customer service so they don't lose there most loyal customers. Not to mention the competition will bring better pricing!! I think this is a good move and from a business stand point I think …   more ›

Quaker Steak and Lube: Coming Soon

The buildout of the new 6,600-square-feet Quaker Steak and Lube is expected to begin soon.

The design plans are done. So are the plans for the overhaul of Lakewood Plaza. The buildout of the new 6,600-square-feet Quaker Steak and Lube is expected to begin soon. A sign was hung in the former Quizno's shop in the plaza — the new home of the Pennsylvania-based bar and restaurant — that the Quaker Steak will open late this summer. The proposed restaurant is slated to be one of the new tenants of a renovated Drug Mart Plaza on Detroit Avenue. Representatives from Quaker Steak have said that the company would like to begin construction as soon as possible. Last month, the Lakewood Planning Commission approved a conditional use permit for a 50-seat outdoor, brickyard patio. The commission also approved a second conditional use permit …
