Veterans Day Event Slated for Sunday
City to honor veterans during annual ceremony at Lakewood Park. Col. David W. Tayor is the featured speaker at this year’s event.
Honoring the men and women who have served in the military is a tradition in Lakewood. Hundreds of people usually show up at the annual ceremony at Lakewood Park — no matter how cold it is outside. The city of Lakewood, as well as the Lakewood Veterans Advisory Committee, is hosting the event at Lakewood Park at 11 a.m. Nov. 11. The event will begin with the Presentation of Colors followed by the singing of the National Anthem by the Four Vet Quartet. This year’s scheduled keynote speaker is Col. David W. Tayor, a Vietnam veteran who retired from the USAR in 1993 after 25 years of service.
