Kelly Richey Slated to Perform at the Winchester

She’s touring the Midwest promoting her new album, but making a stop in Lakewood on Jan. 12.

The performer described as “Stevie Ray Vaughan trapped in a woman’s body with Janis Joplin screaming to get out,” is coming to Lakewood. She’s bringing an all-star band with her. Kelly Richey, a critically acclaimed blues guitarist and singer, is slated to perform at The Winchester on Jan. 12 with a new lineup featuring the Freekbass on (wait for it) bass guitar and Jyn Yates on drums.  “Look out, here we come,” Richey said. They will perform songs from Richey’s upcoming album “Sweet Spirit,” slated for release in March. “For the most part, I am known for a long guitar solo,” said Richey’s who’s been compared to Jimi Hendrix, Walter Trout, Bonnie Raitt and Stevie Ray Vaughan. “And this is the first record that has song after song that is …

Get Out: Bow Wow Events; Art Exhibit; and Rock and Roll

There's absolutely no reason to stay home this weekend.

1. SPOOKY POOCH PARADE Where/When: Corner of St. Charles and Detroit avenues; at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 15; Free. Why Go: With 250 registered dogs marching in the Spooky Pooch Parade last year, it was easily — but unofficially — the largest dog parade in the country. The LakewoodAlive-sponsored event hopes to make it official this year, as organizers have submitted an application to make it official — with Guinness World Records. The Northeast Ohio Halloween tradition is set to take place from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. Oct. 15.
