Just 4 Girlz Closes, Curve Appeal Opens

Curve Appeal looks to promote a positive approach for women who wear “plus sizes,” said owner Marian Zipay.

Life is too straight without a little Curve Appeal.  That’s the self-styled motto of the new clothing store at 15612 Detroit Avenue named — wait for it — Curve Appeal.  The store opened its doors on Saturday, just a few weeks after the previous tenant Just 4 Girlz closed its doors. Curve Appeal looks to promote a positive approach for women who wear “plus sizes,” said owner Marian Zipay.  “It is not like any other resale fashion boutique,” she said. “It is exclusively for women sizes 12 and up. Our store is built on the foundation that every woman is beautiful and should celebrate (her) curves.” The store offers plus-sized clothing, but jewelry and handbags are also for sale. Curve Appeal is expected to host its grand opening Feb. 1. This …

That’s illegal.” Kevin Butler, the city’s law director, who was one of nine …

Owners plan to unveil the store to the community at this weekend's Lakewood Arts Festival.

Sorry guys, there’s a new ladies retailer in town. It’s Just 4 Girlz. The store, a “SOHO boutique without the lofty prices,” opened Monday at 15612 Detroit Avenue. In addition to countless pieces of clothing, there are 500 pieces of jewelry, more than 250 designer bags, as well as glasses, wallets and other specialty items for ladies. And makeup is on its way. Some of the merchandise is new, and some is resale. Gloria and Steve Kessler, who own the boutique, said that the brands include Chico's, Talbot’s, Hollister and Apple Bottoms — and prices in the store range from $3.99 to $50. “We’re trying to have things that you’d get in California or New York — but without those prices — right here in Lakewood,” said co-owner Steve Kessler. “I …
