The new bar, owned by Mickey Krivosh and family, is slated to open its doors to the public on Friday.
The front sign is up; the stage is built; and the large doors to the spacious patio finished. Even the vintage sign from the Detroit Theatre is mounted on the wall. Vosh, the city’s newest jazz hotspot, is slated to open its doors to the public at 1414 Riverside Drive at 7 p.m. Friday. “We wanted to create a new environment to entertain blues, jazz, Motown and more,” said Mickey Krivosh, who co-owns the venue with his family. “We put a lot time and effort in here.” The 5,000-square-foot space was once the shipping and receiving portion of the cosmetics company Bonne Bell. This isn’t Krivosh’s first go-round at running a business in Lakewood. He opened Around the Corner in 1975. Last year, Krivosh and his son, Ryan, bought the Bell family’…

We thought we'd list a few of them in case you're thinking of ditching red meat for the fish and chips.
The Lenten season is here a little early this year. That’s welcome news to Lakewood, with residents who cherish the abundant fish fries in the city. The annual tradition begins on Friday. And there’s a new one in town — but it’s also an old one. St. James Catholic Church, reopened in July, is bringing its fish fry back. But the parish is looking for volunteers. Those interested are encouraged to call 216-221-3567. We thought we’d list a few of fish fries in case you’re thinking of ditching red meat for the fish and chips. But, please, if we forgot any, post ‘em in the comments. Around the Corner: 18616-20 Detroit Rd.; 216 521-4413; There's a fish fry every Friday during Lent; choice of Great Lakes Christmas Ale beer batter cod; Lake Erie …

Owners of Around the Corner and Georgetown expected to open new music venue in the former Bonne Bell building.
The owner of two popular restaurants Around the Corner and Georgetown is planning to open another hotspot on the west end of Lakewood. This one will serve up live jazz music. Mickey Krivosh submitted plans to the city signaling the expected spring opening of Vosh, at 1414 Riverside Drive in the historic property of the Bonne Bell cosmetics company. Krivosh originally intended to name the spot Club 1006, a nod to a popular Bonne Bell cosmetics line. Last year, Krivosh and his son, Ryan, bought the Bell family’s popular Three Birds restaurant and changed the name to Georgetown. But the restaurant has kept its reputation as one of the city’s finer eateries. The city’s architectural board of review is expected to vote on the architectural …

We thought we’d list a few of them in case you’re thinking of ditching red meat for the fish and chips.
It’s sort of an annual tradition in Lakewood. Lenten fish fries are expected to be the meal of choice for the next several Fridays around town. We thought we’d list a few of them in case you’re thinking of ditching red meat for the fish and chips. But, please, if we forgot any, post ‘em in the comments. Around the Corner: 18616-20 Detroit Rd.; 216 521-4413; There's a fish fry every Friday during Lent; choice of Great Lakes Christmas Ale beer batter cod; Lake Erie perch, haddock; cod, blackened catfish; cabbage and noodles and homemade pierogies. Owner Mickey Krivosh said the fish fries are a big draw. Georgetown: Krivosh, who also owns the Georgetown restaurant around the corner (pun intended), said the restaurant doesn’t necessarily have…
