Extended Hours for Dunkin’ Donuts Approved

Lakewood Planning Commission votes to allow the doughnut chain to open an hour-and-a-half earlier.

Correction: David Anderson is the city councilman for Ward 1. Both of the Dunkin’ Donuts locations in Lakewood have opened at 4:30 a.m. every morning — an hour-and-a-half earlier than allowed by the city code. When city officials found out, they required the franchise to get approval for a conditional use permit from the Lakewood Planning Commission on Thursday. The commission obliged. “I believe this is an effort to ask for forgiveness as well as permission,” said Ward 1 city councilman David Anderson, who attended the meeting on Thursday. To me it is business 101 more time for business more revenue. More businesses in Lakewood more tax revenue and the less I have to worry about the city raising my taxes. If you do not want the convenience of a city move to Berlin Hts. I like having the option to buy my coffee and donuts at 4am!! I live right by a factory it was there when I purchased my home.
