Authorities Looking for Young Fugitive Wanted in Shooting

Byron James is the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force's fugitive of the week.

The Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force is offering a reward for information which would lead to the capture of fugitive Byron James. James is wanted by the U.S. Marshals and the Cuyahoga County Sheriff’s Office for homicide. It is alleged that on Aug. 18th, 2012, James pulled up to the intersection of E.136th and Kelso Avenue in Cleveland and he got out of the car and shot Darius Lewis several times and fled the scene. James is a 26-year-old black male standing approximately 5-foot 7-inches tall and weighs about 150 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes. James is suspected to be hiding out somewhere in Cleveland. He also had a previous address near the 1200 block of E. 173rd St. in Cleveland. If you have any information in …

Cuyahoga County Sheriff Bob Reid Resigning

Frank Bova will serve as the interim county sheriff.

The office of County Executive Ed Fitzgerald has released an official statement regarding Cuyahoga County Sheriff Bob Reid’s resignation.  “After two years of work, it provides an opportunity for members of the leadership team and our administration to see where things stand and to make decisions in order to make our government work effectively as possible,” the statement reads.  According to the statement, the executive’s office is reviewing leadership across all departments.  The statement adds that Clerk of Courts Gerald Fuerst announced his retirement last week, and that other leadership changes may be announced soon. Frank Bova, a former interim county sheriff, will again fill that role while the search for a new sheriff is underway…
