St. Edward Grapplers Win Big, More Work Ahead
The Eagles took first at the Clash Tournament last weekend; but they've still got plenty of work to do this season.
Last weekend, St. Edward High School wrestlers traveled to Minnesota took on some of the best programs in the country for the Clash Tournament. The Eagles made it look easy. Heading into the tournament, ranked second in the country, the Eagles took first place, knocking off the sixth-ranked team in the country grab the title. That was after beating the fourth and fifth best teams in the nation. The Eagles started the tournament last Friday beating two teams — one from Georgia and another from Hawaii — by a combined score of 124-6. “They were pretty tough teams,” said coach Greg Urbas.
