Rumors running rampant on the Internet are partially true: Caribou Coffee locations in Ohio are closing. Some locations, however, will reopen as Peet's Coffee & Tea locations, marking the company's entrance into the Ohio market. That includes the location at 15105 Detroit Avenue in Lakewood. An employee at the store told Lakewood Patch on Sunday that the staff was "just told" about the closing. "We're not very happy about it," said the employee, who asked not to be named. "We're all going to lose our jobs. We're going to be given the option to reapply for a job at Peet's, but we don't know much." Woman charged with OVI after she crashes into McDonald's on Sloane Avenue.
Can I super-size that? A woman was reported to be "highly intoxicated" at the drive-thru of the McDonald's on Sloane Avenue at 7:30 Thursday evening. The woman crashed into the side of the building. She was arrested by the Lakewood Police Department and charged with operating a vehicle under the influence. Some of us like the cozy, warm atmosphere even if it is "Outdated" at Caribou. Up-to-date, hip decor doesn't sound relaxing, cozy and warm. I hope it is or I will have to go someplace else. I hope all the current employees are rehired. They are very friendly and very good at what they do. Every time I go into Caribou, they have quite a crowd.
