One of the suspects — 19-year-old Joshua Freeman — was out on bond for trafficking and weapons charges at the time of the burglary.
Lakewood Police Department arrested a trio of teenagers accused of burglarizing a home in the 1200 block of Andrews Avenue. The homeowner returned to his house at about noon on Monday, saw three strangers loading their minivan with his possessions and called police, Lakewood Police Chief Tim Malley said. The teens tried to flee but they were stopped and arrested by police. All three of the suspects are from Cleveland. A pair of them are 17-year-old boys who are being charged as juveniles. The third is 19-year-old Joshua Freeman. At the time of the burglary, Freeman was already out on bond while facing weapons and drug trafficking charges, according to the Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas web site. Theft A resident of the 1500 block of Mars Avenue told police a potted plant on the walkway leading up to her porch was stolen the morning of June 17. A resident of the 1300 block of Lakewood reported that after having a guest stay overnight the night of June 16, several gaming systems and games were missing when he woke up. A red and white bicycle was stolen from a backyard on the 1400 block of Olivewood Avenue the morning of June 20. Hit-skip A bicyclist was struck by a hit-skip driver on the 14000 block of Lakewood Heights Boulevard at about 2:30 p.m. June 19. The bicyclist was unhurt. Wanted in connection to a May 29 burglary at the Shell Gas Station.
The Lakewood Police Department is asking for the public’s help in cracking a case of a burglary at the Shell Gas Station at the intersection of W. 117th Street and Clifton Boulevard in the early morning of May 29. According to the police report, officers responded to a burglar alarm at the gas station around 5:30 a.m., and learned from witnesses that two men broke the glass of the store, before getting away on foot. One suspect — described by witnesses and captured on a surveillance camera — was tall and thin wearing a dark shirt with a red and white design on the front. 19-year-old Lakewood man charged with receiving stolen property — so far. Additional charges are expected.
A 19-year-old Lakewood man was taken into custody late Tuesday night in connection with a burglary and stabbing on Webb Road on Sunday. Kevin Mahovlic, of 17920 Detroit Ave., was arrested at his home on a charge of receiving stolen property after detectives working the case learned that he had some of the items stolen from Sunday’s incident. The police department would not comment whether Mahovlic is the only suspect in the case. But, in a written statement, police chief Timothy J. 27-year-resident hospitalized from injuries that required surgery.
Lakewood Police are looking for man who stabbed 27-year-old Brian Favre of Webb Avenue early Sunday. Favre, who underwent surgery for a severe cut to his arm, was recovering at Fairview Hospital in Cleveland on Monday afternoon. Police were called to the Rush Inn on Detroit Avenue at 1:40 a.m. Sunday and found Favre who had been stabbed in the arm after struggling with a burglar who forced his way into his duplex located at 1380/1382 Webb Ave. The suspect, described as a 25-year-old man, 5'10" and 150lbs, is still at large. “The suspect gained entry to the home and when he went to the upstairs he confronted Mr. Favre and they had a struggle and he ended up getting cut with a sharp instrument,” said Police Chief Timothy J.
