While the first four suspects have all been found guilty and sentenced, the Joshua Stafford case has been held up because of "psychiatric" issues.
It seems as if the case against the fifth and final suspect in the Brecksville bomb plot is heading to court. His case has been delayed for a psychiatric review. Newsnet5.com reported that Joshua Stafford of Cleveland is scheduled to appear before an Akron federal court judge on Friday. The judge is expected to hear legal briefs on Stafford's "psychiatric" issues. A fourth man involved with the plot to blow up the state Route 82 bridge between Brecksville and Sagamore Hills has been sentenced. The following information was provided by the United States District Court Northern District of Ohio: A representative of the court said Hayne would be under lifetime-supervised release after serving his sentence. The sentences for his three charges, including attempted use of an explosive, will be served concurrently. His special assessment cost was $300. Hayne’s jail time is less than the other three men involved in the plot who have been sentenced so far, but the other terms of his sentencing are the same. A federal judge has sentenced three of the men involved in a plot to blow up the state Route 82 bridge in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park. The following information was provided by the United States District Court Northern District of Ohio: All three men were charged for one count each of attempted use of an explosive, attempting to use a weapon of mass destruction to destroy a highway and conspiracy to use a weapon of mass destruction. Three men have pleaded guilty for their role in an alleged plot to blow up the state Route 82 bridge in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park. Brandon L. Baxter, of Lakewood; Connor C. Stevens, of Berea; and Douglas L. Wright, of Indianapolis, have all pleaded guilty to the charges against them in Akron before a federal judge on Wednesday, according to various media reports. Facing life sentences on charges of conspiracy and attempted use of an explosive, they each changed their “not guilty” plea. Sentencing is expected in November. Media reports say that Anthony Hayne, of Cleveland, pleaded guilty in federal court Wednesday morning.
The Akron Beacon Journal reports that one of the suspects in the alleged bridge bomb plot case has pleaded guilty. Anthony Hayne, of Cleveland, was charged with an attempted use of an explosive, with conspiracy to use a weapon of mass destruction and with an attempt to use that weapon to destroy a highway carrying interstate commerce. WKYC reports that Hayne pleaded guilty to all three charges in federal court Wednesday morning. Sentencing has not yet been scheduled. Hayne was arrested along with four other men on April 30 after allegedly attempting to blow up the state Route 82 bridge between Brecksville and Sagamore Hills in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park.
