Who doesnt hold the hand of a 2 year old in a parking lot? What were the otherRead More "passengers" doing? I know that we held our children's hands until they were in their teens because young children dont understand the danger. Sad and totally preventable.

So sad, My heart goes out to these folks. You can not watch children 24x7. A parking lot is aRead More dangerous place for children. A lesson to all of us. I hope these poor folks do not have to pay the extra cost for EMS services in Franklin Township. This would be an insult on top of a terrible accident.

I guess you can argue that all news is sensationalized to some extent but to act like there is noRead More story here is inaccurate. I've been reading about these type of attacks for a few years now the trick is most media outlets don't report on the racial aspect of the attacks. Here is a good smary with links so you can see for yourself what is really happening. http://mobile.wnd.com/2013/11/surprise-media-finally-wake-up-to-knockout-game/

How does my inquiring about the real story make me ignorant? It seems to me that if your story isRead More the true story, which it very well may be, then the Lakewood Patch has some explaining to do. The Lakewood Patch should also look into what really happened. I think you may have taken the tone on my question a bit different than I intended it to be. If you want the truth to be told, you might want to tell it in a way that doesn't offend the people seeking the truth.

Dear Suzie. There are many things I would like to say to you that are inappropriate to be seen onRead More the Internet, but I wont voice them. I would like you to know that i am one of the "innocent" lifeguards at Becks. You are completely ignorant about what really happened, and what it is like for the "innocent" lifeguards. I personally am more concerned with how parents abandon their children at the pool I work at, therefore making me have to not only watch out for drowning victims but also babysit children who deliberately disobey rules until we are forced to kick them out. If you witnessed what lifeguards have to deal with at Becks Pool, your opinion will change. And as for the incident on the 4th, you must not of been aware that there were about 20 non-employees present at Foster who both supplied and drank the beer. The Patch must have left that out. I am not defending my fellow employees: they made a mistake. But i know each of them personally, and none of them deserve strangers critiquing them. Thank you. Also, you used the incorrect form of "hear" in your comment. You're welcome again.

I completely agree with you. It is ridiculous what the guards have to go through on a daily basis.

When will the bars in Lakewood begin being fined for over serving customers? Most of these fightsRead More can probably be avoided if it were not for drunk customer's being pushed out the door so the bar doesn't have to deal with the mess that was started inside their establishments.

Shawn..again..two guys on video who were NEVER IDENTIFIED..how can you state (earlier post) thatRead More they are from the eastside? Not that it mattets to victims or all of us who want to trust..feel safe & enjoy our community. Ian..its simply an epidemic that encroaches on individual communites as populations shift for a variety of reasons. The simple solution is responsibility at home. There is no other answer. Program after program..good intentions for sure..can't overcome the lack of focus..responsibility..disicpline! Dick Feagler wrote, a few years back, in our beloved PD about the rise of what he called the "under-belly"..its always been with us, but rising at an alarming rate. What is the percentage of Lakewood students living under the poverty line? So what! I love when people say, "we were poor but never knew It" Don't you love it when people take action & resonsibility? A certain percent can't & we will always be there for them. I'm very progressive & I know this issue will ultimately define us. What's next? Thaks Ian I'll check it out.

I had issues in the past - police never had a report filed for drugs they impounded on juvenile,Read More also had multiple calls about same person - had to do domestic violence and unruly on the person - NO POLICE REPORTS - but ALL incidents were on the police blotter. Gave information to higher authorities, so now Lakewood isn't putting it on blotter? Or erasing them? Not sure, didn't look up these 2 incidents, trying to see other things going on right now that I know are happening and no information...

Things aren't all what they seem in any city. People who know things, know what is being left outRead More of the public's eye.

I hope he doesn't find someone with $1,000,000. Gosh, this guy is where he belongs. And I wonderRead More what's taking so long with the reports to confirm things? Maybe they normally take this long, I honestly don't know. This guy is evil and needs to stay behind bars!
