This elementary school, for children in grades K - 8, is directed by the SS. Cyril & Methodius church. SS. Cyril is the oldest Catholic church in Lakewood. The school has been at this location for more than 100 years. SS. Cyril has a small faculty and small class sizes, which include art and music education, physical education and computer classes for students. Registration for enrollment takes place every summer.

The award winning Sts. Cyril & Methodius school closed
at the end of the 2010 school year due to the consolidation
of the closing St. Rose Parish. The Parish of Rose and St. Cyril & Methodius Parish merged to become Transfiguration parish. It is succesfully pastored by Fr. Bill of the Franciscan Order. The school will not be opening any time in the future - but the parish seems to be blossoming
under the skillful hands of Fr. Bill who has been a solid and kind pastor who we first met at St. Rose when it was closing.
St. Rose was a lovely parish but because of dwindling membbership (and dwindling finances) that parish did close
because of the many needed extensive (and expensive repairs) The francisicans did an excellent job, and both me and my wife were pleased by the way it was handled.
We enjoy the new Transfiguration parish and enjoyed a wonderful Christmas Eve mass there last night. Keep up the good work Fr. Bill and so sorry about the closing.
