Lakewood City Schools Community Recreation and Education Department oversees recreation facilities and provides a number of athletic programs throughout Lakewood. Sports programs are organized for adults and children. Upcoming Lakewood recreational events are posted on the department website.
In addition to athletics, the department offers a wide range of community education classes and camps — from summer youth camps to adult cooking classes — GED, ESOL, etc. The recreation department also operates the three public pools in Lakewood.
