50th Anniversary Doctor Who episode Watching Party

On Saturday, November 23rd at 2:00 pm hundreds of Whovians from all over the Greater Cleveland area will be flocking to Lakewood's own Mahall's 20 Lanes to watch and celebrate a milestone of the longest continuously running TV show of all time, Doctor Who.  The 75 minute episode will be broadcast simultaneously around the world to eliminate spoilers traveling the globe at nearly the speed of light.  This brodcast will be sent to various country's versions of the BBC and to the movie theatres in select major cities.  Cleveland nor any other city within a 5 hour drive was given the honor of hosting one of these theater locations.  So, Every Bar in Lakewood has risen to the challenge and rented a the big screen in the concert room at Mahall's to show the episode.  

The doors will be opening at 2:00 pm.  The actual episode will begin at 2:50, however the event is looking to sell out quickly.  This won't just be a chance to watch Doctor Who with 200 Whovians, but a celebration.  There will be a costume contest.  Mahall's chef Andrew Dubyoski, a big fan of the show, is designing a menu specifically for the event.  The kitchen will be open before and after the show, plus three flavors of popcorn will be available at the bar in the concert room throughout.  The bar will also be offering themed drinks for the day.  There will be a 50/50 raffle to help fund the event instead of a cover charge.  Vendors selling cool nerdy stuff will be in the main lobby.  GeekCle (Sponsor) will be hosting trivia before the show begins!  

Ages 12 and up will be able to attend but people between 12 and 15 will require adult supervision.  I.D.s may be checked for any people wishing to attend.  Hardcore movie geek rules apply during viewing. So, quiet please. Uncontrolled gasping, laughing, and tears will be tolerated. Whispering, talking and yelling will not. Save discussions for after the episode airs. Disruptive guests will be asked to leave.
