Five Things You Should Know About the Week Ahead in Lakewood

  1. Birdtown Community Meeting: Help organize a block watch, learn more about upcoming neighborhood and park improvements, meet your neighbors, and help plan a neighborhood block party at this Birdtown Community meeting, slated to take place at the Madison Avenue breanch of the Lakewood Public Library at 6 p.m. Tuesday. 
  2. Lakewood resident and convicted child pornographer John Snider is slated to be sentenced in Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court on Monday.
  3. Join Lakewood Early Childhood PTA for Salad Supper: Lakewood Early Childhood PTA is hosting parents and caregivers of children ages six and under to its annual Salad Supper.  The event will take place at the Women's Pavilion located at Lakewood Park, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. July 30.
  4. LEAF Presents: Cheesemaking with Lucky Penny Creamery: Residents are invited to join the Lakewood Earth and Food (LEAF) Community for an educational session on cheesemaking with Abbe Turner of Kent's Lucky Penny Creamery. The demo will take place at Trinity Lutheran Church at 7 p.m. July 31.
  5. Summer Band Concert - Ernie Krivda & The Fat Tuesday Big Band: The free weekly concert at the Bandstand at Lakewood Park will feature local legendary jazz musician Ernie Krivda at 7 p.m. Aug. 4.
