Pets of the Week: Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup

Citizens Committee for the Lakewood Animal Shelter hosting an adoption event today at the Petco at Westgate mall from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Meet Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup. These kittens have been in a loving foster home for six weeks, and the folks at CCLAS are hoping they can all find a permanent home.

All three have been spayed, wormed and have received their first vaccination. They'll be "out on the town" for the first time today at Petco at Westgate mall from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Adoption fees are $35.

That includes deworming medicines, initial vaccination, capstar flea pill (seasonal), a collar with identification tag, a cardboard carrier, and initial veterinarian visit with second vaccination from participating local veterinarian.

The shelter is located at 1699 Metropark Dr. in Lakewood (in the Metroparks, just beyond the Lakewood Dog Park). Please visit the website or the blog at for more information.

The organization is asking for the public's help. The Lakewood Animal Shelter is at capacity with cats, and that means homes are needed for all of the animals — and fast. This time of year is especially difficult, because influx is high and cages are limited.

Can you — or someone you know — rescue one of these beauties, or perhaps offer up a foster home? You might just find a lifelong friend.
