Lakewood Kiwanis Brings Some Flavor to Its Annual Fundraiser

Club hosted its annual Chicken and Rib Bar-B-Que at Lakewood Park on Sunday.

The Kiwanis Pavilion was packed Sunday with people getting their fill on chicken and ribs.

Chicken and ribs never tasted so good. 

Perhaps that’s because proceeds from the Lakewood Kiwanis Club’s fifth-annual will go back into the community.

The event featured live music and lots of food.

John Huetter, the assistant secretary forLakewood Kiwanis, said more than 350 people were expected to attend. But this year's event was a slow-starter.

“We’ve been around for 90 years, and through those years, the support that Lakewood Kiwanis has given to the community has been outstanding. And I think people realize that.”

In addition to mouth-watering meat, provided by , there was live music provided by The Top Hat Band, a local bluegrass band.
