on Friday, and a chili cook-off on Saturday.
There are about 20 chili entries from individuals and organizations competing — with hundreds expected to attend.
The event is slated to take place at at 5 p.m. Saturday.
Each entrant is obligated to sell 10 passes, said participant and organizer Shawn Juris. Passes are $10 and each participant can cast a vote.
The best chili will be decided by a panel of judges that includes Lakewood Mayor Michael Summers and Juris.
“This has really been Ryan Krivosh's (co-owner of Around the Corner) project for the past few years and he's been good enough to loop in Pillars as a beneficiary,” Juris said.
Proceeds of the event will support Pillars of Lakewood and All Dogs Heaven.
