Fourth of July in Lakewood: Parade, Parties and Fireworks

There will also be plenty of live music around town: in the parade, as well as the pre-fireworks show.

Perhaps no city in Northeast Ohio celebrates the Fourth of July quite like Lakewood.

The festivities begin with the annual Lake Avenue parade, stepping off at Kenneth Drive at 10 a.m. and ending at Lakewood Park.

In case you’re wondering, Help-To-Others (H20) will serve as this year’s Grand Marshal for the parade.

After the parade, festivities will keep on going at Lakewood Park with games, food, activities and information provided by several community organizations.  At 7 p.m., the Lakewood Project, Lakewood High School’s Youth Rock Orchestra, will perform at the Bandstand at Lakewood Park.

But celebrations — including some block parties — are happening all over town.

The Fourth of July will conclude with Lakewood’s annual fireworks extravaganza at approximately 9:45-10 p.m. City officials and residents alike are hoping to avoid a repeat of last year’s debacle.

Here are some of the rules for the park… you know, the ones getting national attention.
