Vintage Baseball Makes Its Way to Lakewood Park

The teams dressed the part, swung for the fences and recaptured how baseball was once played over 100 years ago.

Vintage Baseball is a league comprised of old-school sports purists who play the game as those once did over 100 years ago.

They dressed the part and took their style of play to  this past Sunday.

Fans came out to cheer on the Akron Black Stockings, Forest City Ball Club, Whiskey Island Shamrocks and the Cleveland Blues Baseball Club.

The teams played the game by 1860s rules — that meant no bunting or stealing.

Sunday's event was free, except for the concession stand alongside the Old Stone House.
