State Hockey Championship Slips Away From St. Edward in Overtime

In their season finale Sunday, the Eagles lost a heartbreaker, 2-1 to Toledo St. Francis deSales in overtime.
It was a game the Eagles had control over most of the contest — now it marks the fifth time in row this season the Knights have gotten the best of St. Edward.
The disappointing loss came on the heels of Saturday’s thrilling finish against the Gilmour Academy, with the Eagles pulling out the win 3-2 in the seventh period. That’s right, there were four overtime periods.

St. Edward finishes its season with a 26-15-4 record — but fell short of a record 12 state championships.
