Snapshot: St. Edward's State Champs

Eagles makes it official with four individual state champions, eight other state placers and its 27th team state championship.

The St. Edward High School is bring home its 27th state championship wrestling title to Lakewood.

That's after an absolutely dominating performance over the weekend in Columbus. 

The Eagles finished with four state champs, and eight additional state placers.

During the weekend tournament, the Eagles racked up 223.5 points. To put that in perspective, the second-place team, Massillion Perry High School, finished with 105.5 points.

Here's the breakdown of Lakewood's champs and state placers:

113: Alex Moore, second place

120: Colin Heffernan, fourth place

126: Dean Heil, first place

132: Edgar Bright, second place

138: Nick Barber, third place

145: Markus Scheidel, second place

152: Matt VanCuren, seventh place

160: Jacob Davis, fourth place

170: Mark Martin, first place

182: Domenic Abounader, first place

195: James Suvak, second place

220: Ty Walz, first place
