Snapshot: St. Edward Football Falls Flat in National Matchup

No. 1 ranked Don Bosco Prep soundly defeats the Eagles, 38-7.

The football team — ranked sixth in the nation — headed to the Big Apple this weekend to face the No. 1 team in the country and came home empty-handed.

Don Bosco Prep, out of Ramsey NJ, proved why they are the best team in the country, soundly defeating the defending state champion Eagles, 38-7.

ESPN, which ranked both teams in the top-10, reported that Don Bosco pounced on St. Edward early.

The first play from scrimmage...showed that not only did Don Bosco plan to challenge St. Edward, it seemed like the Ironmen felt as if they could do whatever they wanted.

"I was a little surprised, I'm going to be honest with you," Don Bosco coach Greg Toal told ESPN. "We were hitting on all cylinders and they looked a little flat."
