No Shortage of Activities, Programs in Lakewood This Fall

The Lakewood Recreation Department recently released its new fall booklet, and there's plenty of activities and athletics to choose from for youth and adults alike.

Boredom is now in short supply as the just released its new book of activities and athletics for children and adults.

There are dozens and dozens of activities and programs to choose from.

Want to kick like a karate master? Tae kwon do is the perfect fit (ages 7-adult). Dream about being the next astronaut? Join the NASA Academy of Future Space Explorers (grades K-5).

Perhaps artistic expression is a better fit. Not a problem, there are "ac's" for that too. Hit the dance floor and take up beginner or advanced ballet, jazz dance or tap dancing classes (ages 5 and up).

For athletics, young children can join “Start Smart” sports and learn the fundamentals of football, baseball, basketball, golf and soccer.

And like previous years, adults can join basketball, softball and volleyball leagues.

Adult activities include Pilates, yoga and body sculpting exercise classes.

The recreation department is also hosting Lakewood Community Day at Cleveland Browns Stadium on October 2. Tickets are $65 apiece, and include a game day ticket, a meal at the Ranger café and bus rides to and from the stadium.
