Third-string Cleveland Browns quarterback Brian Hoyer, who was born in Lakewood, will start this Sunday in Minnesota, NFL.com is reporting.
He will replace Brandon Weeden who is out after injuring his thumb against the Ravens last weekend.
Hoyer was signed to a two-year deal by the Browns in this offseason.
With the Arizona Cardinals in 2012, Hoyer started one game. He was undrafted in 2009 but signed by the New England Patriots, serving as Tom Brady's backup.
The 27-year-old went to Michigan State and St. Ignatius High School. How do you think Hoyer will do? Is he enough to get the Browns back in the winning column? Tell us in comments.
