Lakewood Girls Take Championship at NOC Swim Meet

Girls beat Brush to take the top spot at the Northeast Ohio Conference Lake Division.

The girls' swim team torpedoed its way to the top of the last weekend’s Northeast Ohio Conference Lake Division.

According to a news release from the school district, the championship Jan. 7 by beating Brush High School.

By nearly 200 points.

Taking first place in individually were were Ella Blackman (diving), Olivia Lawrence, Maddie Mahoney (two-time winner) and Sarah Neff (two-time winner).

Grace Bulchick joined Lawrence, Neff and Mahoney in a winning relay as well, according to the news release.

The boys didn’t do too bad either.

The boys' squad took second in the division and had a winning relay team of Zach Gilchrist, Peter Schleckman, Shawn Sovie and Chris Williams.
