Lakewood Recreation Adult Basketball Team Registration

 2011-2012 ADULT BASKETBALL LEAGUES      

A minimum of four teams is necessary to form a division.  The preferred maximum number of teams in each division is eight.  Divisions may be separated and/or combined based on number of teams registered.  Total games is an approximate number; total nunmber of season games depends on total number of teams.  Players must be at least 18 years old and out of high school.

LEAGUES

 "A" DIVISION: Designed for more competitive teams.  Participants should have players who have competed at the junior college or collegiate level.  Teams will play 20 season games plus tournament.  Games played Monday and Wednesday evenings.

"B" DIVISION: Designed for average/above average teams interested in exercise and recreation.  Teams will play 20 game season plus tournament.  Games played Tuesday and Thursday evenings.

6' & Under DIVISION: Players must be 6' and under to play.  All players must be measured prior to participating.  Returning players may be exempt from measurement.  An exemption list is available at the Recreation Department.  Teams will play 20 game season plus tournament.  Games played Monday and Wednesday evenings.

35 & OVER DIVISION: Designed for teams specifically interested in exercise and recreation.  Teams will play 10 season games plus tournament.  Games played on Sundays.

WOMEN'S DIVISION: Designed for teams specifically interested in exercise and recreation.  Teams will play 10 regular season games plus tournament.  Games played on Sundays.

FEES

• 10 Game Season Fee - $150
• 20 Game Season Fee - $250

Individual Fees - All Leagues

• $15 Lakewood Residents/$25 Non-Residents

Game Fees - Paid at gym

• $28 per team/per game

REGISTRATION

Resident/Returning Team Registration Begins: October 1

Open Registration Begins: October 15

Registration Deadline: EXTENDED TO NOVEMBER 4

Registration is limited and may close prior to deadline if maximum number of teams is reached.

Roster Deadline: November 11

Teams not submitting roster by the deadline may be dropped from the league.

Regular Season Begins: First week of December

MANAGERS MEETING - Managers and players are encouraged to attend a pre-season organizational meeting, to learn the policies, procedures, and rules of the league.  The meeting is scheduled to be held Saturday, November 19 at 10:00 AM at the Lakewood Board of Education, 1470 Warren Road in the Board Auditorium.
