St. Edward Grappler Edgar Bright Commits to Pitt

Senior standout wrestler says he wants to stay close to home.

Edgar Bright, St. Edward High School, recently gave University of Pittsburgh's wrestling program an oral commitment to attend the school.

The Plain Dealer reported that Bright — who took second place in the state tournament at 132 pounds last season — picked the Panthers over Arizona State, Nebraska and Ohio State so he could stay close to home.

Bright is expected to compete at 141 or 149 pounds at Pitt, according to the story.
