Lakewood Board of Education Supports District's Neediest Students

School board member Betsy Shaughnessy reached out to the public last night to help drive donations to a fundraiser that will put school supplies in the hands of needy students.

During last night's Board of Education meeting, Betsy Shaughnessy did her part in promoting the Lakewood Family Collaborative's Lakewood School Supplies Fundraiser.

The fundraiser is set up for Lakewood's neediest middle and high school students who lack the means to purchase several school supplies.

“If anyone would like to make a contribution, paper, notebooks, pens, pencils, calculators (TI-30X) that kids need at high school for math. I think it’s an excellent opportunity for us to reach out and make a little bit of a difference.”
