Lady Rangers Basketball Squad Wins First Postseason Matchup

Lakewood girls improve to 20-3 on the season.

The Lakewood girls’ basketball team kept up its winning ways on Friday night.

The Lady Rangers beat Berea, 67-42, in the in the first round of the Division I sectional girls basketball tournament at Valley Forge High School, cleveland.com reported.

The Lakewood High squad was led by Tori Milicevic with 17 points; Erin Hoffert added 14; Maggie Rowell scored 12; and Megan Barrett tallied 10, according to the report.

“On any given night, another girl can step up and have a good night,” coach Mike Harper recently told Lakewood Patch. “Defensively, we can really get after it.”

The Lady Rangers improved to 20-3 on the season, and last week captured the team’s first conference championship in 17 years.
